About Karbon
Karbon is the global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms. We provide an award-winning cloud platform that helps tens of thousands of accounting professionals work more efficiently and collaboratively every day. With customers in 40 countries, we have grown into a globally distributed team across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, growing rapidly, and have a people-first culture that is recognized with Great Place To WorkÂź certification and on Fortune magazineâs Best Small Workplacesâą List.
Karbon Academy is how we teach accounting firms around the world to get real value from Karbon, at a scale no team of humans could reach one customer at a time. It is our most important lever for customer onboarding, product adoption and long-term success, and we are rebuilding it around role-based learning paths designed for the people inside a firm: owners, operations leaders, accountants, bookkeepers and tax professionals.
As an Educational Content Developer, you will design and develop the self-paced learning experiences that make up those paths, owning courses end to end â from learning needs and scenario design through storyboarding, build, quality review and publish.
The scope goes beyond structured courses. You will also create time-of-need content that meets customers in the moment they are stuck â job aids, quick reference guides and in-product guidance â as well as go-to-market education that lands new features, supports release communications and drives adoption campaigns alongside our Product, Marketing and Customer Success teams. Some of what you build will be a six-module learning path; some of it will be a two-minute video shipped in a week.
AI is genuinely embedded in how we work. Our production workflow runs on AI-assisted storyboarding and research, which means your time goes to the parts that need human judgement: understanding what a bookkeeper actually needs on a deadline day, designing a scenario that feels real, and knowing when a draft is wrong even when it reads well. You will also see the data on what you build â completion, feedback and product usage â and help decide what to change next.

Karbon embraces diversity and inclusion, aligning with our values as a business. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criteria. If youâve made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesnât perfectly align, we do encourage you to still apply. You could still be the right person for the role!
We recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We donât discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.
Generally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you. đ
If there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at people.support@karbonhq.com for a confidential discussion.
At this time, we request that agency referrals are not submitted for this position. We appreciate your understanding and encourage direct applications from interested candidates. Thank you!
Delivers virtual training sessions on early childhood care to babysitters working with children under 3 years old.
Design and produce interactive online courses for a learning platform, including scripting, storyboarding, visuals, and interactive elements in WorkRamp.
About Us
Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets. We enhance trust by augmenting the work of assurance and audit practitioners with AI agents. Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.
We are based in San Francisco and built as a remote-first company. We have raised over $125M in venture funding from top investors including Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, Justin Kan, and Elad Gil. More than 50% of the top-100 CPA firms are customers, including several Big 4 firms, with an industry-leading NPS to match.
We value diversity, both in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguideâs team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive.
About the Role
Fieldguide University is our customer-facing learning platform. It is a product-adjacent learning system that reduces time to value, drives feature adoption, and removes preventable friction from the customer lifecycle. Courses are persona-driven, so an admin configuring frameworks and a first-year associate testing controls get different learning experiences, not the same product tour.
We are looking for an eLearning Designer, who owns the production-heavy parts of course building including visual design, interactive elements, and multimedia. The remaining customer education team will continue to own product knowledge, learner personas, and course goals. It is a collaboration between domain experts and a learning production specialist.
What Youâll Do:
Own course production end to end. Take product documentation and subject matter expert input, and turn it into a visually polished, interactive, pedagogically sound course. You write the learning script, storyboard the screens, design the visuals, build the interactions, and publish in WorkRamp.
Write for learners, not readers. Shape technical documentation into on-screen copy with the right length, tone, and chunking. Define measurable learning objectives for each module alongside the subject matter expert.
Build the interactive layer. Knowledge checks, scenario-based activities, and exercises that give each course a real balance of reading and doing. Make sure every interaction serves the learning goal and works across delivery contexts.
Establish a visual design language for Fieldguide University. There is no design system for course content yet. Creating a reusable one is an explicit deliverable of the first engagement, not a nice-to-have.
Build and QA in the LMS. Structure course hierarchy, configure settings, produce landing pages and banners, and QA formatting, links, and presentation before publication.
Write assessments. Multiple-choice and other question types aligned to learning objectives, configured in WorkRamp with scoring and certification logic.
Push back. If a module is too long, a concept is unclear, or a proposed interaction does not serve the learner, say so. We want a peer collaborator, not an order-taker.
What You Are:
3+ years designing and developing eLearning courses, with a portfolio that shows production quality and visual design capability.
Strongly preferred: hands-on experience in audit, advisory, or accounting, whether as a practitioner, a trainer or L&D specialist inside a firm.
Familiarity with CPE requirements is a strong plus.
Nice to have â B2B SaaS or technical product context, experience building learning content for an AI-native product, and comfort producing screen recordings and product screenshots from a live application.
Proficient in a major authoring tool. Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar. WorkRamp familiarity is a plus but learnable. General LMS experience is what matters.
Strong visual design skills applied to learning. You understand how to design for on-screen reading, interaction, and learner attention.
You work well with subject matter experts. You can run an SME interview, synthesize documentation, and come back with a structure that holds up.
Enough instructional design background to write learning objectives, build storyboards, and flag problems with content architecture.
Deep ID methodology is not the main requirement. We handle learning strategy and needs analysis internally. We need someone who can make things, and make them well.
Teach nursing courses to residential and online students as an adjunct faculty member at a university.
